This next site is one that I developed, designed, and maintained all on my own over the course of about 4 years. This site is what got me where I am today. It is because of RadioHomegrown.com that my love for web design and development flourished.
When I took over this site, the locally produced radio show Homegrown was on the air on KQ92. The site that was given to me had a fairly complex content management system in place, however, I needed more than what I was given to let my creativity abound. I asked for a web site that I could have complete control and manipulation over.
The first design of this site was all greens and browns with some yellows mixed in. The reason for this was becuase it was on KQ and those were the colors that we wanted to associate with the site. Also, having the name Homegrown, we wanted to keep the theme in line with farming, silage and natural colors.
A few years later the show was moved from Midnight Sunday nights on KQ to 10pm Sunday nights on Drive105. This prompted another theme and style change to what you see above excluding the top banner. When Drive105 switched formats to become Love105 there was no more fit on the air for Homegrown and the show was cancelled. Now being that the show had died, I thought it fitting to change the top banner from what it was, to what you see above.
The site incorporated all sorts of different media, which included digital music and sound bytes, image galleries, slideshows, an RSS podcast of each week's show, and finally some flash thrown in here and there.
